WWII Memorial
Each star represents 100 lives lost in defense of freedom. There are 4,000 stars on this wall. My father was a WW2 vet. When I showed him this photo. He cried. His comment was "I'm not sure what we gained in losing all of those people." My father took part in the invasions of Normandy, Iwo Jima and Okinawa. I felt I learned more about him and his experiences from his reaction to this photo. Than from the few conversations we ever had about the war.

Since the WW2 Memorial had been around, I had visited it at least once a year. Every time it gets me feeling a little different. I was just there again 2 or 3 weeks ago, this time at night. Standing in front of the star wall, looking at the reflection of them in the water, reading the inscription about "sacrifice"... it really touches me inside.
Your photo of it is great. Good job.
