Dad's War Diary - January 23rd, 1944

My father passed away last February. The same day my youngest daughter was born. Among my father's personal effects, was his war diary. My brother graciously gave it to me (Thanks Steve:)). I've decided to start posting entries from my father's diary here on my blog. The entries are short, dealing mainly with where he was at the time. I'll try to include context if I can. This is more for my own personal healing. I can't believe my Dad has been gone for almost a year. I'll still post pictures. But I'm going to post these as well.

January 23rd 1944: Went aboard a British transport (Aquitania). Left New York the night of the 23rd for Scotland.

what a good tool this is for you! I'm proud of how you want everyone to know all the accomplishments you dad made! He really saw history being made! Love H
